Valley Brother Recruits Lodge Brethren

Brother David M. Narkunas is a member of the Valley of Boston's membership committee, and he has set a great example for all enthusiastic Scottish Rite Masons to follow! David, a member of Columbian Lodge in Boston, asked his Secretary to provide him with a list of men that were raised within the last two years.

David sent a membership package that included an application for the degrees, a stamped return envelope, a small informational card on Scottish Rite Freemasonry, and to top it all off, he added a personal letter chronicling his own great experiences as a member of the Rite!

The Valley is impressed by David's initiative, and his example is one that all Scottish Rite men should follow! Read David's letter below.

Happy New Year and best wishes for a prosperous 2013! As you are a relatively new Columbian Lodge Mason, it is my duty to inform you of a very significant event in our Fraternity's history.

One Day Class, February 9th, 2013

In February of 1945, the United States Marines landed on the island of Iwo Jima to help further the cause of liberty in ending World War II.

On February 9th, 2013, the Valley of Boston will honor one of our very own heroes, and a veteran of that Iwo Jima campaign, Bro. and Ill∴ Robert Johnston, 33°, DSA.

We are asking that all Valley members go back to their lodges and ask non-Scottish Rite Masons to become a part of the Rite in this special class. Now is the time to act! Bob is one of the best men and Masons we have ever known.
